Use Healthy Self-Talk to Rise Above Tough Times

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Oh, Lord my Rock and my Redeemer.” Ps 19: 14

Do you ever talk to yourself? So many women feel they shouldn’t be doing that, however, I believe it’s very healthy. I have a disabled son and he had to learn to talk out loud to remember what he was doing and stay organized. In the midst of a trial, we all battle negative thoughts and worry. Self-talk helps to refute those nasty ideas that bog you down.

Today my guest is Karen Jordan. She lived through a difficult time: the illness and death of her mother. Using what she learned from that,  she has written a book called Words that Change Everything.

1:50 Do all women worry?

2:55 What makes us worriers?

4:07 Is worry a natural emotion?

4:35 What are some strategies you use when you start to worry?

5:27 How many of those thoughts were put there by our enemy?
