Overcoming Restlessness and Finding Abundance

Restlessness. That could describe me years ago.

I can remember as a girl, I would live from one holiday or special occasion to the next. For instance when Easter was coming I’d think about how great that would be, and that anticipation made me happy. Once Easter was over, life went back to the daily routine. And it was blah.

The next holiday or special event? My birthday or a party for someone else’s’ and then back to life’s routine.

I got up in the morning, ate breakfast, went to school, ate lunch, did homework, and went to bed. I took a bath, did chores, changed my clothes, and put my things away. Maybe I read a book, but I didn’t do anything exciting. The next day I did that all over again.

And I was a believer. I knew the Lord and Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 (ESV)

Do you ever have a sense of restlessness? Stir crazy? Maybe you don’t have a lot to complain about but life seems dull sometimes.
