"Cynthia Simmons has a marvelous way of bringing women from centuries past
back to life. I often felt as if I was in their shoes, experiencing their fears,
heartaches, and turmoil. The manner in which these true to life women
overcame their pain will encourage the reader to place their hope in God
regardless of the severity of their struggles."

I have just finished reading the first chapter of Struggles and Triumphs, the
brand new "hot off the press" historical fiction book written by our very own
Cindy Simmons. In her descriptive yet factual style, Cindy has done a remarkable
job of taking us back in history into the lives of women who had to overcome
trials in order to experience triumph. The back cover states:
The lives of these women are powerfully relevant for today. Walk with them as
they face hardships, doubt their faith, and suffer at the hands of ungodly people.
Rejoice with those who find their way through their difficulties with God's help
and guidance. Experience a deepening desire for greater spiritual service as you
learn about the lives of these remarkable women. You will be encouraged as you
are reminded that God perfectly works through His people--including you!
I am very impressed by Cindy's talent as a writer, and I also believe in my
heart that God is going to use this book to touch many lives. With a Bible study
discussion guide accompanying each chapter, the book is a great resource for
women's groups or personal devotion time with the Lord. As you turn the pages, it
becomes obvious that you are not reading fantasy but rather the product of much
research and study. Cindy has blessed us with a book that helps us connect
eternal truth with real life. It is a remarkable book about remarkable women by a
remarkable woman. You got to read it!
