Cynthia's Biography
  • When I stand at the foot of the cross, I keep my balance. I know I'm a sinner,
but I remember that I'm loved and forgiven.

I'm a native of Chattanooga, and a graduate of Tennessee Temple High School. After
I completed Erlanger School of Nursing, I worked at T.C. Thompson's Children's
Hospital. In 1978 I married Ray Simmons and moved to the Atlanta area.

For over twenty years I've been teaching as both a homeschool mother of five and as
a Bible teacher. In addition to growing orchids and playing the piano, I love to
research history.  The lively stories I unearth become part of  my Bible lessons.

My  youngest child, Caleb, suffers with a form of autism.  I went to special education
classes so I could homeschool him as well. An article on his life appeared in the
January 2008 issue of Georgia Right to Life News
.

I'm on the board of Christian Authors Guild (CAG), and served as president from
2008 - 2009.

My work also appears in CAG's anthologies:
The Desk in the Attic, No Small
Miracles
, and Inspirations from the Heart: Devotions from the Christian Authors
Guild.

I have written for Chattanooga Regional Historical Journal, Chattanooga Times Free
Press, NATHHAN NEWS, Georgia Right to Life News, and Catholic Exchange.
